Hd 7970 which brand

Prior to this, it was frustrating. Now that I've sorted out hacking together resolutions, everything works splendidly and I can play literally anything in my Steam library now. Before it was a lot of trial and error with the help of WSGF. And let's not forget, you still have room for a 3D projector, which are becoming very affordable.

Find me something you can't run with that setup. Didn't try to go higher. I wanted GHz Edition speeds and this card didn't disappoint! Not going to take eggs off for these. Make sure you can fit the card inside your case! Make sure that your power supply has enough watts and even more importantly enough amps on the 12V rail. This isn't a big deal for me since I'm not an extreme overclocker, but it is something to be aware of. What I do is overclock as high as it will go on default voltages in this case GHz Edition speeds, though I didn't even try to go further , which is a completely safe way of overclocking that won't decrease the lifespan of your components.

For comparison, my 4 GB GTX which came pre-overclocked at a already rather high MHz boost clock scored on the same benchmark. The only difference here is the price that you pay for the performance you're getting. The second RMA they sent a different card refurb which still had coil whine. That's not to say that coil whine can't affect cards from Asus or MSI, but because they use higher quality components, the chances of something like coil whine happening are much lower.

Pros: What can I say. It's Cooler is very adequate with cooling. I've never seen temps near 60C. Cons: One major issue I had with the video card is that its Voltage locked. Highest I can get it is to 1. With that being said. While playing BF3 I need to have a saved settings for it to play. For that I can run Mhz core and Mhz memory. Any other game I can run the card to the Max and be fine.

Last, I ordered two of these cards for a Xfire setup. One ended up being DOA. BSOD after the windows loading screen. For this I would've knocked off -1 egg for a DOA card. Still 5 Eggs for great customer service.

Pros: - Very powerful as a single monitor, single GPU solution - Handles many games in multi-monitor x on high settings, as long as they are not extremely graphically demanding don't try to play Crysis 3 - Efficient cooling from fans and heatsink - FOUR DisplayPort pots, perfect for multi-monitor setup especially if you have high end monitors running hz etc.

Also has 2 DVI ports for a total of 6 ports. Cons: Auto fan doesn't try very hard to keep the card cool. I don't know when it is programmed to go any higher!

Overall Review: The card is well equipped with fans and heatsink but auto cooling features just aren't up to par for me. It is very easy to set manual fan speeds and fan profiles that cool very well! Size may be an issue since the card covers 3 slots.

Aside from size, these cards don't exhaust outside the case. They dump heat inside, so if you plan to Crossfire be sure to have adequate side or top case fans. Can the do all of these things and live up to the anticipation?

The Radeon HD is a card of many firsts. All of these attributes combine to make the quite a different video card from any AMD video card before it. Meanwhile the wider bit GDDR5 memory bus for will be clocked at 1. Meanwhile idle power usage is looking particularly good, as thanks to AMD's further work on power savings their typical power consumption under idle is only 15W. Overall for those of you looking for a quick summary of performance, the is quite powerful, but it may not be as powerful as you were expecting.

In a significant departure from the launch of the Radeon HD and , AMD will not be pricing the nearly as aggressively as those cards with its launch. For those of you trying to decide whether to get a , you will have some time to decide. It's a brave move by AMD though. Bringing out a radically different graphics design spec, compared with its previous vector processors, in the same year as it brought us a brand new CPU architecture. We've seen little bits from AMD about its new architecture, the plainly-named Graphics Core Next , before, but now it's humming away in our test bench and throwing pixels and polygons around our high-res screens without a care in the world.

Well, maybe the AMD Radeon HD does have some cause for concern considering Nvidia is set to launch its newest graphics architecture, code-named Kepler, in the early Spring of AMD has decided to effectively launch the Radeon HD just three days before Christmas, a notorious deadspot in technology news. We'll see the 'true' launch of the card, with the manufacturer's versions, coming early in the new year.

Though speaking with AMD board partners they're not allowed to release overclocked cards until well after launch.
